AFS Trinity

AFS Trinity Power Corporation is an American corporation headquartered in Medina, WA with an engineering center in Livermore, CA that develops technology for plug-in hybrids. The company has developed PHEV technology that actively combines batteries with ultracapacitors. The company asserts that the combination of high-power ultracapacitors, which prefer to discharge and recharge quickly, and high-energy lithium-ion batteries, which prefer to discharge and recharge slowly, makes for a system with both long-life and high energy-density storage
AFS Trinity claims that this "Extreme Hybrid" technology makes it possible for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to achieve the equivalent of 150 miles per US gallon (1.6 L/100 km; 180 mpg-imp), travel 40 miles (64 km) per charge in all-electric mode and use gasoline for additional range (limited by gasoline tank size) in hybrid mode.[1] The company also reports that its prototype "XH-150S" modifiedSaturn Vue SUVs demonstrated 11.6 second 0-60 performance in electric-only mode and 6.9 second 0-60 performance in full hybrid mode, which would be comparable to a Porsche Cayenne.[2]

AFS Trinity's Extreme Hybrid prototypes have been test-driven by journalists from The New York Times,[3] The Washington Post,[4] ABC World News,[5] CBS Evening News,[6] CNN,[7] and Salon
The powertrain using two forms of energy storage is disclosed in US patent application 11/519,350.[14]
The application describes a family of architectures where a battery is used in conjunction with a second energy storage device which may be an ultracapacitor, a flywheel, or a second battery. The purpose of the second energy storage device is to protect the battery from high current during high power operation.

Alex eroadster electric car

A new 2 seater electric car called the Alex eroadster is being designed and will be built in Dunleer Co. Louth, Ireland.[1] It is an ultra lightweight design, with the chassis being designed by a specialist composite chassis designer in Denmark. The body panels will also be made from advanced composites the manufacturers say[2]
The car will be driven by two axial flux motors driving the rear wheels. The motors will be powered by advanced Litium-ion battery modules stored in a compartment underneath the floor of the car. Top speed will be in the range 130-135kph. Expected range is 250–300 km.[3]
It will also feature a quirky combined canopy to allow entry and exit from the car.[4] The makers say that it saves a lot of weight by combining both doors with the roof. A prototype is expected to be available in July 2016 with the first car going on sale in January 2017

Kia Soul EV

Soul EV is an all-electric subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by Kia Motors. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official range for the 2015 Kia Soul EV is 93 miles.[1]
Deliveries began in South Korea in May 2014.[3][4] European sales began in July 2014.[5] Sales started in the U.S. in October 2014;[6] initially it was sold only in California, Oregon, and several Eastern states, with the largest EV markets and infrastructure including New York, New Jersey and Maryland.[5] Global sales totaled 5,399 units through August 2015, of which, 1,177 were sold in South Korea

Specifications

The Soul EV is powered by a 27 kWh usable capacity (30.5 kWh size)[10] lithium-ion polymer battery pack and CHAdeMO fast charging capability of 100 kW DC.[9] The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official range for the 2015model year Soul EV is 93 mi (150 km) and the EPA rated its combined fuel economy at 105 miles per US gallon gasoline equivalent(2.2 L/100 km equivalent).[1] As of September 2014, the Soul EV has the largest EPA-rated all-electric range in city driving of its class, with 104 mi (167 km).[11] The motor is rated at 81.4 kW (109 bhp) and torque 285 Nm (210 lb.-ft).

Mitsubishi i-MiEV

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV (MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle[5]) is a five-door hatchback electric car produced by Mitsubishi Motors, and is the electric version of the Mitsubishi iRebadged variants of the i-MiEV are also sold in Europe by PSA Peugeot Citroën (PSA) as the Peugeot iOn and Citroën C-Zero. The i-MiEV is the world's first modern highway-capable mass production electric car.[6][7]
The i-MiEV was launched for fleet customers in Japan in July 2009, and on April 1, 2010, for the wider public.[8] International sales to Asia, Australia and Europe started in 2010, with further markers in 2011 including Central and South America. Fleet and retail customer deliveries in the U.S. and Canada began in December 2011.[9][10] The American-only version, called "i", is larger than the Japanese version and has several additional features.[11][12]
According to the manufacturer, the i-MiEV all-electric range is 160 kilometres (100 mi) on the Japanese test cycle. The range for the 2012 model year American version is 62 miles (100 km) on the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (US EPA) cycle. In November 2011 the Mitsubishi i ranked first in EPA’s 2012 Annual Fuel Economy Guide, and became the most fuel efficient EPA certified vehicle in the U.S. for all fuels ever, until it was surpassed by the Honda Fit EV in June 2012 and the BMW i3Chevrolet SparkVolkswagen e-Golf, and Fiat 500e in succeeding years.

Powertrain[edit]

The production version of the 2009 i-MiEV has a single permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the rear axle with a power output of 47 kW and torque output 180 N•m. The motor is water cooled, there is a conventional automobile radiator in the front of the car with an electric fan. The coolant (with antifreeze) level is monitored via a tank under the rear load platform on the left hand side of the vehicle.(See picture adjoining.)
The vehicle uses a single-speed reduction gear transmission driving the rear wheels and has a 16 kWhlithium-ion battery pack.[19] The car's top speed is 130 kilometres per hour (80 mph).[20]
Under its five-cycle testing, the US EPA rated the American 2012 model year Mitsubishi i with a combined fuel economy equivalent of 112 MPGe (2.1 L/100 km), with an equivalent 126 mpg-US(1.87 L/100 km; 151 mpg-imp) in city driving and 99 mpg-US (2.4 L/100 km; 119 mpg-imp) on highways.[21][22] This rating allowed the 2012 Mitsubishi i to get a higher MPG-e rating than the 2011Nissan Leaf, which was rated at 99 MPGe (2.4 L/100 km) combined, but the Leaf rated a better range due to the Mitsubishi i's smaller battery pack

Renault zoe

Renault Zoe is a five-door supermini electric car produced by the French manufacturerRenault. The Zoe has a 22 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that delivers a range between 210 km (130 mi)[2] and 240 km (150 mi)[3] under the NEDC cycle.[2]
Renault had previously unveiled under the Zoe name a number of different concept cars. Initially in 2005 as the Zoe City Car and later as the Zoe Z.E. electric concept was shown in two different versions in 2009 and 2010 under the Renault Z.E. name. A production ready version of the Zoe was shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.[5]
Retail customer deliveries began in France in December 2012, followed in 2013 by several European countries. Since 2013 the Zoe is the all-time top selling all-electric car in the French market.[6] Global sales passed the 25,000 unit milestone in May 2015,[7] with France as the leading market with almost 15,000 units sold through May 2015, representing 57% of global sales.[6][8] Over 36,000 units have been sold worldwide up to November 2015

Garbage truck (electric)

A common example of the battery electric trucks is the Garbage Truck. Since it makes many stops in carrying garbage it is more practical to use an electric vehicle than a combustion truck, which would be idling much of the time; it also reduces noise in residential areas.
Garbage trucks are excellent candidates for electric drive. Most of their time is spent stopping, starting or idling. These activities are where internal combustion engines are their least efficient. In preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games, 3,000 of the internal combustion engine garbage trucks in Beijing were replaced with lithium ion polymer battery pack electric drive trucks. The batteries were procured for about $3,300 each. In France, some all-electric garbage trucks produced by Power Vehicle Innovation have been operating since 2011 in the city of Courbevoie, the first local authorities in France to acquired them.

In 2014, North America became home to its own electric garbage truck. Called the ERV (electric refuse vehicle) it hit the road in Chicago in September of 2014. It was the first of an up to $13.4 million purchase order for up to 20 trucks. The PO was won in a competitive bid by Motiv Power Systems in 2012. The majority of the money used to purchase the first truck came from a DoE grant secured by then-Senator Barack Obama. The City of Chicago runs the Motiv ERV on different residential refuse and recycling routes of up to 60 miles, saving 2,688 gallons a year.Chicago specified that this ERV must meet the demanding requirements placed on all of its garbage trucks. This included 60 mile range, a payload capacity of nine tons and 1000 pounds per cubic yard of compaction. These specifications make the ERV capable of use anywhere in Chicago. To supply enough electricity to move the truck and power the hydraulics all day, the ERV is equipped with 200 kilowatt-hours of energy, in ten battery packs. Full charge time is 8 hours using the Motiv Universal Fast Charger

Before going the Newton first let me tell you about Electric Trucks.
An electric truck is a truck powered by electricity , yeah that's all .Its working is somewhat similar to electric cars . There are many types of Electic Trucks means the types depends upon its application like

NEWTON:

Launched in 2006, the Newton electric truck is an all electric commercial vehicle from Smith Electric Vehicles. The Newton comes in three GVW configurations: 7,500 pounds (3,400 kg), 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg) and 12,000 pounds (5,400 kg). Each is available in short, medium or long wheelbase.


The truck was launched with a 120 kilowatt electric induction motor from Enova Systems, driven by Lithium-Ion Iron Phosphate batteries supplied by Valence Technology. In 2012 Smith re-released the Newton with new driveline and battery systems that were developed inhouse. Smith offers the battery pack in either 80kWh or 120kWh configurations
Newton was named Green Commercial of the Year in the electric vehicle section of Fleet Transport magazine’s Irish Truck of the Year Awards 2010, sponsored by Castrol.
As of October 2012, the Newton is sold worldwide and available with three different payload capacities from 6,100 to 16,200 lb (2,800 to 7,300 kg). The lithium-ion battery pack is available in varying sizes that deliver a range from 55 to 110 mi (89 to 177 km) and a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h).
