Electric Aircrafts

First let me tell you What is Electric Aircraft ?
An aircraft that runs on electric motor rather than IC engine (internal combustion ) . The power source (elecrticity) comes from fuel cells, solar cells, ulrtacapacitors, power beaming or batteries. Battery is a common word, but i think only few people knows about other power sources. I will explain them some other day.Lets get back on our topic,
Currently flying aircrafts are mostly eperimental demonstrators, including manned and unmanned aerial vehicle. Electrically powered model aircraft have been flown since the 1970s, with one report in 1957. The first man carrying electrically powered flights were made in1973. In 2015,a manned solar powered plane Solar Impulse begin a planned 5-month circumnavigation of the Earth.

Let get back back in the past .........................hmmm...in 1883, Gaston Tissandier was he first to use electric motor in the airship propulsion. The following year Charles Renard and Arthur Krebs flew La france with more powerful motor.
In 1964, William C Brown demonstrates on CBS News with Walter Cronkite a model helocopter that receives all the power needed for flight from a microwave beam.
Its a very long topic to discuss, So today i will give info. about few Electric Aircrafts:

Electric BL1E Electra:

The French BL1E Electra was the first registered electric aircraft in the world . It took its first flight in 23 Dec 2007. It was flew by Elecravia team with the APAME Association . It is a open-cockpit airplane.
The aircraft was flew foe 48 min. covering 50 km.

Specificaton:

The BL1E "Electra" is powered by an 18-kW(24 hp) disk-brushed electric engine driven  by a 47 kg (104 lb) KOKAM Lithium-Polymer battery power pack. It was first electric realization of the french company ELectravia.

Hugues Duval MC15E Cri-Cri:

On September 5 2010, pilot Hugues Duval sets a world record for electric aircraft with his twin engine MC15E CriCri. The aircraft has been equiped with Electravia engines, controllers, batteries and propellers.
Durin the Pontoise Air show, a top speed of 262km/hr was recorded by aero club de France organisers
